Beth G. A final illustration that heroes are an important aspect of current society occurred on September 11,2001.A day that will go down in history: two planes crashed into New York City's Twin Towers and killed thousands, affecting millions. A day that called upon the people known as New York's finest: the police and fire department, paramedics, doctors,and even civilians. Everyone, despite their differences, came together for one cause: to help those in need stuck in the towers. People gave out food and water to the hundreds of volunteers that came to Ground Zero in order to search for the bodies of loved ones. That day,everyone, with and without a badge, became a hero, and without their efforts the effect could have been much worse.
