  Last Sunday, while cleaning my dusty bookcase, a yellow envelope fell out. It was a letter I had written to myself three years ago.   The little me had asked: “Do you still draw spaceships? Do you still have the same best friend? Have you been to the moon?” I laughed and felt a little sad. I no longer draw spaceships; I am busy with math problems. My best friend moved away last year. I have not been to the moon. But inside the envelope, there was also a dried flower. I remembered I had pressed it there after my first school trip. That flower reminded me that even though some dreams change, the feeling of wonder never really leaves. 

  So I decided to write another letter. I took out a fresh piece of paper and wrote: “Dear me in high school, I hope you still look at the stars. I hope you have a friend who makes you laugh until your stomach hurts. I hope you are not afraid to fail, because every mistake is just another seed. Please remember today, when the wind smells like rain and the world feels full of possibilities.” I sealed the letter and wrote “Open on your 15th birthday”. Writing to the future is like sending a message in a bottle across time. It reminds me that every day is a chance to write a beautiful story.
